Two qualify for Bradley School Board vacancy

Two candidates qualified before Thursday’s deadline as non-partisan candidates for a vacancy on the Bradley County Board of Education.

According to the county Election Commission office, Rodney Dillard, a company district manager and member of the Lake Forest Middle School PTO, and Jerry Johnson, a veteran county emergency worker now with the 911 Center, are the candidates in the November election.

They have until Aug. 26 to withdraw their petitions.

The winner will fill the vacancy created this month by the death of Terry McGuire. The Fifth District seat will be up for election again in 2012.
