Kidnapping tileThe Cleveland Police Department attempted to serve a domestic assault warrant on 38-year-old Senneca Harris last night.
Harris, who was located at 242 East Street NE in Cleveland, refused to make contact with police officers, according to a news release. The other owner of the residence, who was the victim in the alleged domestic assault, gave consent for officers to enter the residence. It was then that officers learned that Harris had allegedly barricaded himself in the front bedroom with one of the children.
Several attempts were made to negotiate with Harris, however, negotiations were unsuccessful, police said. When officers heard the child begin to cry, entry was made into the bedroom. Harris relinquished the child to officers and Harris was placed in custody. He has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping.
