There’s a fungus among us, and participants in this year’s BioBlitz can help track it down.
The Fungus Walk is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday as one of the public activities in this fourth annual event, which runs from 3 p.m. today to 3 p.m. Saturday.
According to organizers, BioBlitz is part contest, part festival, part educational event and part scientific endeavor.
Public interaction is welcome as scientists and other nature-oriented professionals race against time to see how many species can be counted in a 24-hour biological survey of the Chattanooga Nature Center and Reflection Riding Arboretum & Botanical Garden. Also taking part are the Tennessee Aquarium and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
