Rory. Wow, you go fella. And it was pretty cool to watch the best golfers in the world feel the pressure of that much money. How much? Yeah, Rory pocketed $18 million by securing the FedEx points title with his win at East Lake. Yeah that’s more than Gary Player ($1.8 million), Jack Nicklaus ($5.7 million) and Arnold Palmer ($3.6 million) made in golf earnings combined.
Vandy. Sure, it hurt my picks, but man, nice win for the Commodores, who went to the islands and dropped 63 on Hawaii. Sure, I lost that pick — the Fab 4 went 2-2 (missing on Vandy and the under in Nebraska-Northwestern and hitting on FSU laying the number and the first half total in Utah State-UConn.)
Speaking of big offensive showings from Hawaii, how about those Hawaii Little Leaguers, huh? That was impressive and those kids hit rocket after rocket on the way to the title in Williamsport.
Sports viewing this weekend. Man, it was good to have college football back, right? And sure, there were more blowouts than a bicycle race in a tack factory. But it still was fun viewing, and with baseball approaching the ‘er’ months, a star-studded leaderboard at East Lake, and a slew of other options, it was a great weekend to have fresh batteries in the remote.
