Jasper Middle School counselor Bridgette Blevins wanted to provide families at her school with clothing for the winter months.
She wanted a place where children could have easy access to coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, gloves and hats in a dignified manner. She also wanted to stock a closet with other items such as personal hygiene products.
Allen Kirk from Builtwell Bank in Jasper came to the rescue. Allen and his team heard about the closet idea, and they immediately gave the school a check to stock the shelves with new clothing.
Allen says his bank is “part of the Marion County story. When families are hurting, you never forget your own.”
