The Chattanooga Red Wolves played Union Omaha to a 3-3 draw Saturday night at CHI Memorial Stadium in East Ridge, improving to 2-4-2 in USL League One and halting a two-game losing streak.

Chevone Marsh, Ropapa Mensah and Alex Tejara scored in one of the biggest offensive explosions of the season for the Red Wolves, who came close to a win, with a penalty kick by Chattanooga’s Walter Varela saved in the match’s final moments. Moe Espinoza had a pair of assists for the Red Wolves, who have been shut out five times this season but also scored three goals in an April 29 win against Lexington SC.

Union Omaha is 2-1-4 with 10 points for ninth in the 12-team standings, two points and one place ahead of Chattanooga.

The Red Wolves’ season continues with a road match against the Charlotte Independence at 7 p.m. next Saturday.
