The Hamilton County school district announced 10 new principal assignments for the 2024-25 academic year.
Here’s a rundown of the appointments, which were made Thursday:
— Roxanne Anthony has been named principal of Tommie F. Brown Academy.
Anthony has worked in the district office to assist with equity and professional development since 2023. She previously served as principal of Harrison Elementary and Barger Academy.
— Jesse Goins has been named the lower school principal for the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences.
Goins has served as principal of Battle Academy since 2017.
— Jennifer Whalen has been named principal of Battle Academy.
Whalen currently serves as assistant principal of Battle Academy.
— LeAngela Rodgers has been named principal of Central High.
Rodgers has served as principal of Hixson Middle since 2012.

— Michael Caraccio has been named principal of Hixson Middle.
Caraccio has served as assistant principal of Hixson Middle since 2020.
— Danielle Rungruang has been named the principal of Apison Elementary.
Rungruang has served as assistant principal of Spring Creek Elementary since 2018.
— Shalunda Shackelford has been named principal of Dalewood Middle.
Shackelford currently serves as assistant principal at Dalewood Middle.
— Joe Gerez has been named principal of East Ridge Middle.
Gerez has served as assistant principal of East Lake Academy since 2023.
— Andrew LaFevor has been named principal of Snow Hill Elementary.
LaFevor has served as assistant principal of Westview Elementary since 2021.
— Rachel Teas has been named principal of Soddy Elementary.
Teas has served as assistant principal of Brown Academy since 2019.
