A Rossville man was sentenced to life without parole after he shot and killed his girlfriend in their shared apartment, according to a news release from the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit district attorney’s office.
Christopher Bullock was found guilty for the murder of Tammy Cropper, which was investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
“I want to thank the GBI and our amazing prosecution team for relentlessly pursuing justice for Ms. Cropper and her family,” District Attorney Clayton M. Fuller said in the release. “This prosecution should send a clear message: You take a life in our community, then you’ll spend the rest of yours in prison.”

On Oct. 5, Bullock shot Cropper multiple times in the bedroom of their Rossville apartment before attempting to take his own life with a gunshot to his head, according to the release. Cropper’s 7-year-old grandson came home from school and discovered Bullock on the bedroom floor later that day.
An investigation by the GBI and Rossville Police Department turned up evidence that Bullock had recently been fired from his job and had a history of failed romantic relationships. Within days of the murder, Cropper had informed Bullock that the relationship would end if he didn’t start providing more financial assistance, according to the release.
Bullock then sent a series of “good-bye” messages to friends and family, indicating his intention to take his own life.
The jury deliberated for 20 minutes before returning a guilty verdict on Dec. 5. Bullock was convicted of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
