JACKSON, Tenn.– The Jackson Police Department is hoping the reinstatement of a cold case unit will lead to arrests in more than 50 unsolved homicide cases.
The Jackson Sun reports the unit will be staffed with a full-time investigator.
The department had a cold case unit staffed by part-time retired investigators from 2009 to 2011, but the unit was disbanded when funding ran out.
The department has 52 unsolved homicide cases from 1990 to this year.
