Two teens, 18 and 16, have been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with a Thursday shooting on Market Street.

According to a press release from the Chattanooga Police Department, around 9 a.m. Thursday, police received a report of a person shot and found a vehicle after a crash with two people walking away from the scene, just south of Chattanooga Creek from The Howard School. Then officers were notified that a 15-year-old girl came to a hospital with injuries from a non-life-threatening gunshot.

Authorities determined the two people leaving the scene had been in the crashed vehicle and had fired at another vehicle, where the 15-year-old was a passenger. The driver, a 38-year-old woman, was not injured, the press release said.
