Two people were found dead after a structure fire early Sunday morning in Chattooga County, according to the Coroner’s Office.
Chattooga County 911 notified the coroner of a fatal fire in the 1200 block of Ridgeway Drive near Trion, Georgia, around 4 a.m., when Coroner Jeremy McElhaney pronounced the two individuals dead. The investigation into the fire is still in early stages, according to a press release, and the Georgia Fire Marshal’s Office will release more information when it becomes available.
Both individuals will be moved to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Atlanta for additional examination and identification, the release said.
