Fourteen Hamilton County schools ranked among the top performing public schools in the state for the 2024-25 academic year, and eight ranked among the bottom 5% of schools statewide, according to data the Tennessee Department of Education released Friday.

The school system was also recognized as an “advancing district,” the fourth-highest out of five possible levels. This marks the first time since 2019 that the district has received that designation.

“I’m really proud of the work happening in our schools every day,” Superintendent Justin Robertson said in a press release. “This recognition confirms what we’ve already been seeing — our students are learning and our schools are creating meaningful connections with kids. This progress does not happen overnight, but is a result of dedicated teachers and staff, proven strategies, and consistency in support and leadership.”
