The Lookouts committed seven errors the last time they played at home.
They made just as many mistakes in their return to AT&T Field on Thursday, which helped result in a 6-5 loss to the Jackson Generals. Only one misplay was scored an error, but other should-haves factored in.
“We had plenty of mental mistakes on defense, on offense and on the bases, and you expect more from a Double-A ball club,” manager Carlos Subero said. “It gets to a point where it’s repetitive.”
The Lookouts almost made up for their defensive lapses at the plate, but they fell short in a slow-paced game before a crowd of 3,514.
One Jackson hit was a line drive off the glove of Elian Herrera. And in the third inning Chattanooga center fielder Anthony Jackson plunked Nate Tenbrink between the shoulder blades as he advanced to third base.
