An investigation initially involving one person found dead has expanded after state law enforcement said three people were discovered slain at a New Hope, Tennessee, home in November, but details remain slim.

While the nature of the deaths has not been released by authorities, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has identified the three people found dead at a home in the 400 block of Mail Loop Road as Wilma Lee Peoples, 76, Hoyt Dean Peoples, 79, and Danny Aaron Peoples, 67, according to agency spokesperson Mariah Dunlop. The scene is about a mile east of the Tennessee River.

The investigation is active and ongoing, Dunlop said in an email. The state agency was asked to investigate by the District Attorney’s Office and has led the probe since it began.

New Hope police officers and Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies initially responded to the home Nov. 20, according to Marion County Sheriff Ronnie “Bo” Burnett.
