Lady Vols cruise past Southern Indiana

The University of Tennessee women’s basketball team raced out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and cruised to an 89-44 win over Southern Indiana Monday night. The Lady Vols also finished strong, finishing the game on a 26-9 run to improve to 5-0 at home.

Nya Roberson led the Lady Vols with 20 points, including 6-of-14 from 3-point range, while Mia Pauldo added 19 and Alyssa Latham finished with 10 points and six rebonds.

Defensively the Lady Vols (8-3) forced 29 turnovers, which produced 36 points and they held Southern Indiana to just 30% shooting from the field.

The win was the final non-conference game before Tennessee begins Southeastern Conference play with a home game against Florida on Jan. 1.
