It’s wonderful to see that the McDonald Farm in northern Hamilton County will be preserved as a state park. We’ve had a lot of discussion as to whether or not this should become an industrial site.
Now the farm and adjacent areas on Walden’s Ridge will become a natural recreation area for the public, including Tennesseans and tourists. Officials are now considering what the name for the new park will be.
Natural features farther west on the Cumberland Plateau are called Savage Gulf, Shakerag Hollow and Fiery Gizzard. It looks as if Wildcat Hollow would be a good name for the new park.
