A Chattanooga man was arrested and charged with murder after a Walker County resident was found dead from a gunshot at his home in Rossville.

Walker County deputies responded to a call for a welfare check on the male occupant of a house on Gilbert Street and found Robin Sutton, 38, dead, according to a press release from the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation led to the arrest of Jermaine Jackson, 28, at a house in Brainerd early Tuesday. Jackson was questioned at the East Ridge Police Department, and around noon, Walker County deputies obtained a warrant charging Jackson with murder, according to the press release.

According to Hamilton County booking reports, Jackson also faces a vandalism charge in Tennessee.
