Catoosa man arrested after allegedly shooting his daughter in the head

A Catoosa County man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm while attempting to commit a felony after he told deputies he was responsible for the gunshot wound to his daughter’s head.

William Woodall, 75, was standing outside a house in Rossville when Catoosa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shots fired call, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found Carrie Ann Woodall, William Woodall’s 53-year-old daughter, inside the house with a gunshot wound to the head. She was still alive, and a neighbor was doing first aid when the deputies arrived, the Sheriff’s Office said.

William Woodall admitted to deputies that he fired the shot that hit the victim, who was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. If she dies from her injuries, the Sheriff’s Office will seek additional charges against William Woodall, the press release said.
