Bills getting higher; when will it stop?
I have a 900-square-foot, one-level home with thick carpet throughout, and I was shocked when I saw my [power] bill was $268. We have been in our home since 2001 and have never had a bill go that high.
Oil prices were down during that cold weather. I can only surmise EPB had a rate increase we were never made aware of to pay for its new power grid. This was insane! It was bad enough when the tax assessor assessed our homes three times their value, causing our mortgage payments to escalate, under the guise of giving raises to the police. Look around at all the new police cars and motorcycles our property tax money paid for. Now Sheriff Garrett is crying for a county tax increase to buy more tech devices off the backs of property owners.
