Veterans Bridge sign sign isn’t working

Dear Chattanooga PD, can you please explain the reasoning behind putting up your radar speed/driver feedback sign on the middle of Veterans Bridge? If it was to get lead-foot motorists to slow down, then I’m afraid you have failed miserably! I walk this bridge every day and usually at about the same time (mornings). And let me assure you, not a single driver is following the posted speed limit, which is 35 mph! Not one of them! Every single driver, every single day is speeding across that bridge! I’ve seen it day after day, week after week.

If you want to educate and calm that speeding traffic heading into our fair city, may I make a suggestion? Enforce the traffic laws of our city, period! Put a traffic cop out on that bridge and enforce the law! When they issue enough tickets, people will get the message and will slow down! As it is now and has been for months, people speed right by your little radar sign with its red and blue lights flashing and never slow down for a second!
