Ory Williams is one of three offensive tackles on Tennessee’s 2026 football roster who is listed at 6-foot-8.

Good thing he can finally blend in.

“I’ve always been the biggest kid,” Williams said Saturday afternoon in a press conference. “I was 6-7 going into my eighth-grade year. I broke my tibia tubercle, and it also opened up a growth plate, so that’s how that extra inch came that summer I was rehabilitating.”

Williams is in his first year with the Volunteers after spending the past two seasons at LSU. The 330-pounder from San Marcos, Texas, played in one game in 2024 and in 12 games last year, so he is a redshirt sophomore with three seasons of eligibility in Knoxville.

Saturday marked Tennessee’s fourth of 15 practices in the sixth spring under coach Josh Heupel, giving Williams more time to get acclimated to his new surroundings.
