Nicholas Bowen knew he was entering a saturated market when his start-up launched its first product last month. He didn’t feel daunted by the volume of competing apps promising to create tailored workout plans.
Bowen, a Chattanooga native who graduated from McCallie School in 2022, started BioTrac last year. The company launched its app on Apple’s App Store in April.
The app applies artificial intelligence to a wealth of information supplied by users to track fitness goals and create plans that adapt in real time, Bowen said.
“We focus our company very much on being dynamic and intuitive to you, so it listens to every single response, every single rep you do, every single sprain, sore muscle, illness,” Bowen said in a video interview. “You input it, it listens to it.”
When users first log in, they add information like their height, age, weight, goals, equipment, workout level and workout frequency to create a plan.
