AutoZone to hire 12,000 employees

AutoZone Inc., the Memphis-based automotive retail chain that operates more than 5,300 stores across the country, announced today that it will add 12,000 full- and part-time employees by April to help staff its stores across the country.

AutoZone operates seven stores in Hamilton County, two in Cleveland, two in Dalton, Ga., and others in Ringgold, Ga., Fort Oglethorpe, Athens, Tenn., Etowah, Tenn., and Pikeville, Tenn. The retailer said most of the new hiring will be at stores in Atlanta, Dallas, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio, New York City, New Orleans, Pittsburg and Oakland, Calif.

AutoZone is the latest U.S. business to tout its hiring plans as Donald Trump becomes president. Trump has praised General Motors, Ford, Carrier, Wal-Mart and other businesses that also have announced expansion or hiring plans in the past month.

AutoZone said it will be hiring sales representatives, delivery drivers, parts sales managers, commercial sales managers, store managers and hub specialists. Applications must be submitted online at the AutoZone careers site, www.autozone.com/careers.
