High school football fans around the Chattanooga area will be able to get a first glimpse at the talent and any changes for area teams in just two weeks when the annual jamborees are held.

On Aug. 14, just one week before the regular season kicks off, Finley Stadium will host the Chick-fil-A jamboree, beginning with rivals Brainerd and Howard facing off. Neighbors Notre Dame and McCallie, both considered among the top five teams in their respective classifications, also will meet as part of the six quarters of action that begins at 7 p.m.

That same night the annual Sequatchie Valley jamboree will be held at Bledsoe County with last year’s Class 2A state runner-up Marion County as well as perennial 1A contender South Pittsburg among the teams in the eight-quarter event, which also features a skill competition. Action begins at 8 p.m. EDT, and admission is $6 per person.

The following night the Chick-fil-A jamboree continues at Finley Stadium with Boyd-Buchanan, East Hamilton, Ooltewah and Signal Mountain among the teams that will play.
