That Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is often irrational and irresponsible is nothing new. But the problem is that he can also be very dangerous as the leader of one of the troublemaking regimes in the Middle East.
He appeared at the U.N. in New York this week to make ridiculous charges about the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington. Among his worst assertions was the claim that U.S. government interests “orchestrated” the 9/11 terrorist attacks “to reverse the declining American economy and its grips on the Middle East in order also to save the Zionist regime.”
The U.S. delegation at the U.N. responded by walking out.
But the serious fact is that Ahmadinejad unfortunately has the ability to do great and deadly damage as head of a totally irresponsible and inflammatory regime in an unstable Middle East.
