University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball coach Matt McCall has agreed to a two-year extension that will last through the 2021-22 season, the Times Free Press has learned.
The two sides are working toward finalizing the extension, which should be done later this week.
McCall guided the Mocs to a 29-5 record in his first season at the helm. They had 10 wins over teams that participated in postseason tournaments, including road wins over NCAA-tournament team Dayton and NIT participant Georgia, and a 3-0 record against rival East Tennessee State, which won 24 games and advanced to the Vegas 16 semifinals.
The Mocs won the Southern Conference’s regular-season and tournament titles, advancing to their first NCAA tournament since 2009.
