Greetings, Chattanooga!
Today is National Medal of Honor Day, reminding us to give thanks to those who have served and died for our country.
And this year, helping us remember is Linda Moss Mines, former teacher at Girls Preparatory School and author of “The Making of a Hero: Six Stories of the Medal of Honor.” Her children’s book features vignettes about decorated Americans who embody teachable character traits, and is being released today.
And now, a few recent stories:
The city of Chattanooga is looking to rent 100 additional hotel rooms in East Ridge to help the growing local homeless population.
A Tennessee man was able to turn his luck around after finding his missing $1 million winning lottery ticket in a parking lot.
And, we asked readers to nominate some of the best spots for takeout and outdoor dining in the Chattanooga area and now it’s time to vote!
