Another applicant for the Hamilton County Commission’s vacant 3rd District seat said she would submit her letter of intent this week.
Laurie Shipley, a longtime District 3 resident and a public affairs manager for Comcast Cable, said she would bring small-business experience and experience as a community volunteer to the task.
“I will be a passionate advocate for both the residents and businesses in District 3, and consider it an honor and privilege to serve the Hixson community as county commissioner,” she said.
Shipley joins Randall “Randy” Price, Russell Collins, Mitch McClure and George Patten.
They are vying for the seat County Mayor Jim Coppinger vacated when commissioners appointed him to replace Claude Ramsey.
