Lady Mocs win big

It took a Bailey Dewart buzzer-beater for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team to knock off Davidson earlier this season.

Not so on Saturday, though Dewart again was a difference-maker.

The Lady Mocs earned their fifth Southern Conference win in six games, leading wire to wire in a 91-70 thumping of the Wildcats in front of 2,204 at McKenzie Arena.

UTC (13-12, 10-6 SoCon) is above .500 for the first time all season after winning at least 20 games each of the last 11 years.

“For the first time in a long time, we have to be excited about being above .500,” Lady Mocs coach Wes Moore said. “I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. It has made me appreciate the wins a little more this year.”
