Bradley County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman after electronically tracing stolen jewelry to two pawn shops.
Deputies arrested Tonia Mashelle Norman, 33, of Waterlevel Highway, charging her with theft over $500. She was released from custody after posting $5,000 bond, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Bob Gault.
Norman was arrested in connection with a jewelry theft on Francisco Road on April 9, according to a news release.
Gault said investigators entered a suspect’s name into a database and found she recently had pawned several pieces of jewelry, matching the victim’s description. The sheriff’s office had only recently joined the nationwide database, called Leads on Line, according to Gault.
