A plea agreement could be near for one of two men charged with attempting to kill a pregnant woman in April 2016, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Chattanooga prosecutors are still determining whether to bring Jacorey Owens and Jaumichael Hardy to trial or close their cases with plea deals.

“I think we’re real close on Mr. Owens,” Hamilton County Assistant District Attorney Cameron Williams said. “I’m not sure about Mr. Hardy.”

Prosecutors said Sharia Reynolds was shot in the thigh while sitting in a parked vehicle in the 1500 block of Arlington Avenue on April 18, 2016. She was 24 weeks pregnant.

Police said they found Hardy and Owens after receiving two descriptions of possible suspect vehicles – a silver Jeep Liberty and a light-colored Chevrolet Impala.
