I hope I misunderstood a recent article about future plans for the riverfront. Upgrading it is a good idea, but I am concerned, based on your article, that parking will become even more difficult. That article listed a new sport court and some other amenities in the “space occupied by a parking lot around the Riverfront Parkway.”

That parking area is the length of several blocks. It is often completely full for events, such as Riverfront Nights, which we have often attended. Our alternative was to park in one of two garages nearby. On three separate occasions, we have been stuck for a full hour when trying to exit a garage. Once someone had a car wreck. Another time somebody had a flat tire. And a third time the gates for the payments were not operating properly.

What considerations and plans have the developers made for future parking near the riverfront?

I would welcome a free shuttle that can easily accommodate coolers, chairs, strollers etc. Then parking further away from an event would not be a problem.
