Attorney Arvin H. Reingold, former judge for the East Ridge Municipal Court in Hamilton County, received a rebuke and warning from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee.

On Jan. 13, Reingold received a public censure, which does not affect his ability to practice law, but is a formal warning.

Reingold received the censure because of his failure to communicate with a client, according to a news release from the Board of Professional Responsibility.

Reingold represented a plaintiff in a lawsuit against her insurance company after her house burned to the ground in a fire, and failed to advise her when her case was dismissed on the defendant’s motion for summary judgment. Because of this action, Reingold’s client lost her right to appeal, the release states.

The Board of Responsibility decided that Reingold’s actions violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3 and 1.4, which deal with diligence and communication, respectively.
