Fleischmann named to science committee

U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, R-Tenn., announced today that he will serve on the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.

Fleischmann, who was elected in November to succeed Rep. Zach Wamp, said the committee is vital for projects in Oak Ridge.

“The energy mission taking place in the 3rd District is critical to our national security and the future of energy independence for our nation,” he said. “I am wholly committed to the mission going on in Oak Ridge and plan to use my position on this committee to ensure our mission has adequate representation and to make sure other representatives from around the country understand the importance of what goes on in Oak Ridge.”

Fleischmann also has been assigned to the Energy and Environment and Technology and Innovation subcommittees.
