Oak Hill and the Martha Berry Museum in Rome, Ga., are celebrating “Roosevelt Days: Bringing 100 Years of History to Life,” honoring the centennial anniversary of President Theodore Roosevelt’s visit to the Berry College campus.
Today’s events include performances by historical impersonator Joe Wiegand for area schoolchildren and the announcement of winners in an essay contest for fifth- and eighth-graders.
Roosevelt Days continues from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Roosevelt Cabin, on the main campus, with another performance by Wiegand. He will re-enact President Theodore Roosevelt’s 1910 address to the Berry Schools.
Refreshments will be served, and photo opportunities will be available with Wiegand in character as Roosevelt.
Parking will be available at Roy Richards Memorial Gymnasium on the main campus. Admission is free.
