Health plan hurts poor, middle class
To Sen. Corker, Sen. Alexander and Congressman Black:
The people of Tennessee want affordable health care. They were taken to the cleaners when the Republican state legislature refused to sign onto the ACA. With TrumpCare, you are taking the money set aside to subsidize that plan and turning it into tax breaks for your base, the richest 10 percent.
You are not only victimizing the poor. You target the middle class by eliminating those subsidies while also making it harder for them to qualify.
You stop federal funding to states and put caps on Medicaid, penalizing the states that did the right thing for their citizens. You do this knowing that state legislatures like ours will find an excuse to not fund one more dime of health care for Tennesseans.
