WTCI-TV 45, the PBS station in town, launched a new online series Tuesday called “Greater Chattanooga,” a short film series that looks at “the people and ideas that make us all more aware, happier and stronger as a community,” according to a news release.
Subjects to be covered in the shorts will include arts and culture, business and news, and public affairs.
Each episode can be found at greaterchattanooga.org, with the first installment being a nearly six-minute piece on the first Chattanooga Mini Maker Faire held at First Tennessee Pavilion in October. It can also be watched on smartphones and tablets via YouTube and Facebook, and in HD using products like Apple TV and Roku by using the free PBS app.
The Mini Maker Faire showcased the “maker movement,” which brings together people with ideas big and small.
Starting today, trailers previewing the “Greater Chattanooga” stories will be run on WTCI’s TV schedule throughout the day, followed by a message telling viewers to go to greaterchattanooga.org to watch the complete films.
Some time later in the year, the short films will be collected into a half-hour show and broadcast on WTCI.
