The Chattanooga Lookouts will play more baseball at AT&T Field this year, which wasn’t a goal entering Thursday night.

Montgomery squared the North Division best-of-five series at a game apiece with a 3-2 triumph over the homestanding Lookouts before an announced crowd of 1,818. The two teams will play game three tonight in Montgomery before returning to Chattanooga for game four Saturday night and game five Sunday, should that be necessary.

The winner of the Chattanooga-Montgomery series will be declared a Southern League co-champion, as the league announced Wednesday that the championship series would be canceled due to Hurricane Irma. The other co-champion will be the South Division winner between Pensacola, which has a 2-0 series lead, and Jacksonville.

Nathan Lukes broke a 2-2 tie Thursday night for the Biscuits by leading off the eighth inning with a home run to right field off Lookouts relief pitcher Cody Stashak, who had just replaced starter Dereck Rodriguez. Montgomery jumped on Rodriguez to open the game with consecutive singles by Joe McCarthy, Jake Cronenworth and Justin Williams, grabbing a quick 2-0 lead.

Max Murphy’s double to center scored Jonathan Rodriguez in the second inning to get the Lookouts within 2-1, and Chattanooga pulled even in the seventh on T.J. White’s homer to left.

The Biscuits were swept in a five-game series at AT&T Field to close the regular season and lost Wednesday’s series opener 4-3.
