Break down of the UTC Mocs' 2013 schedule

Former Tennessee Tech wide receiver Carter Crutchfield started work Friday as UTC's director of football operations. It's a new position that in the future will lighten the administrative load on coach Russ Huesman, strength coach Scott Brincks and assistant athletic director for facilities and equipment Mike Royster. It includes booking everything for road games and coordinating preseason camp meals and housing, among other duties.

Nick Pollard showed off a knack for the rugby-style punt in 2012, his first as the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's punter and kicker.

C.J. Murrell's first contribution to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team was as a "G" in a big group of chest-painted students in the stands for the 2009 season opener at Finley Stadium. Murrell got the guys together, bought the paint and was the first "G" in the message "Go Chattanooga Mocs!!!!!!!"

B.J. Coleman needed a good performance last Saturday in St. Louis, for himself and his confidence and for his chances of making the Green Bay Packers' 53-man roster.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga defense is expecting a Jason Simpson offense to look like a Jason Simpson offense when the Mocs and UT-Martin meet at Finley Stadium on Aug. 29.

In less than two weeks Bobby Lamb will walk out onto the field at Mercer University Stadium -- the brand-new home of the brand-new Mercer football program -- and experience one of the highlights of his long coaching career.

Brian Millican crossed his arms, looked around at the large crowd at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga "Meet the Mocs" fan gathering Saturday and spoke with great confidence.
