Case: Old turkey hunters shouldn’t get sore about new challenges
As I was staring somewhat blankly into the clouds of my third or fifth cup of coffee, the same thought kept coming up: We are all getting older.

It has been a hard winter, and I know it is not over with yet. The past few days, though, have been a welcome relief from the snow, ice and cold.

It all happened very fast, and for a minute I couldn't figure out what kind of critter I was dealing with.

It has been a crazy week for someone you hopefully think of as at least a marginally talented guns and outdoors writer (me).

Many of you out there know some of the history of Remington Firearms, and even more of you have treasured rifles and shotguns made by the company.

I love the SHOT Show. As for Las Vegas, the city where it is held every year? Not so much.

Once upon a time, nobody worried much about what people did with hunting dogs. Today it is quite a bit different.

Most folks have no idea about what wild animals really do, how they live in the wild, or even how to identify most of the critters out there.

The terrible weather this time of year is something all sportsmen (and women) deal with. But what are the animals that we pursue doing?

I propose that this year we make some honest, soul-searching resolutions about our hunting and fishing and shooting activities.
