Sohn: This is about two men with guns and protests. This is about racial disparity.
This is a tale of two men with guns. Except its not a tale. It's real life. And it's wrong. It's wrong on so many levels. One man is black and the other is white.

On Friday, Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke pledged to review policing policies in Chattanooga.

It's a victory.

The words of the First Amendment are quite straightforward:

Time and again over years and years, this paper has reported first one then another angry or concerned or frightened activist, citizen, teacher, preacher - occasionally even an elected official - saying, "We've got to have a conversation."

Remember those breezy black sock masks with the TN on them that Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee ordered up with an $8.2 billion, no-bid contract? They've been recalled.

With all the headlines this week about protests across the country in honor of a black man killed recently by police in Minnesota, we'd like to see more cities take some lessons from Chattanooga.

Just as it was heartbreaking to see George Floyd die in the custody of police in Minneapolis, it also was heartbreaking to see protests around the country over the weekend turn violent.

Yes, there is other news out there besides COVID-19 and protests over injustice.

When does it stop? When do Americans finally get a belly full of a president who, as coronavirus deaths hit 100,000 in this country, mocks wearing a mask and makes it his newest "politically correct" insult.
