Ron Hart: Sending the federal Uber for Maduro
Is Donald Trump's intrepid adventure in Venezuela about drugs, gangs, illegal immigrants, Cuba/Russia, Iran's ambitions in the region, Western Hemisphere security or oil?

Year's end is a time for reflections and apologies. As I reflect on the year, let me say to those I offended in 2025: Work on yourself, so it will not be so easy for me in 2026.

For the kids going to Christmas parties and taking pictures with your friends, a word of advice. Dance like no one is watching, but take group pictures like they may be used to impeach you someday.

You can tell Christmas is near: crime scenes Chicago to New York are now roped off with festive green and red tape. Here is my annual, hopeful look back:

There was a great movie 20 years ago called "Dave." It was so long ago that Kevin Kline starred in it.

Like most Southerners, I love SEC football. A girlfriend broke up with me once over it — we dated just two seasons. She told me I loved college football more than her. To try to make her less upset, I told her I loved her more than ice hockey.

Thanks to the reprobates, hypocrites and buffoons who make my job easier, it has been an epic year for humor. Here is my annual ADD list of random things that I am thankful — and not so thankful — for this year:

Biden had four years to release the "Epstein Files." Trump campaigned on releasing them, but when Israel visited and the CIA showed him things, he changed his tune.

For the 14th time, Republicans voted to reopen the government. Dems voted not to. So SNAP will be cut in half.

Things are not going well for the Dems. When their "No Kings" rally fell flat, it made Nancy Pelosi go back on the Crown Royal.
