As many moms would tell you, it's all in the little things — like nights talking with girlfriends and sharing a glass of wine. In fact, eight in 10 women say they find it necessary, not just preferred, to have a girls' night every 22 days, according to an article on talkerresearch.com.

To commemorate 60 years of racial integration in Walker County, Georgia, and WCAAHAA's 25th anniversary, guests reflected on the progress and continued mission of the WCAAHAA (the Walker County African American Historical and Alumni Association). Speaker and special guest Mr. Luther Ingram, the CEO of Roper Corporation, engaged guests, and students and teachers who've made a lasting impact on racial integration were honored. The event was a standing testament to the fight for freedom and equality.

The Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center honored living Medal of Honor recipients for their sacrifices. Held in the Chattanooga Convention Center, the ceremony was one of respect, serenaded by Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan band. Four Americans who exemplify the core values of America — patriotism, citizenship, courage, integrity, sacrifice and commitment — received awards, helping inspire future generations to act as upstanding members of the United States and Chattanooga community.

The Signal was alive and bustling as guests bet on items, played games and enjoyed delicious food. Proceeds went to Northside Neighborhood House's mission of empowering people in Northern Hamilton County with vital resources, including working utilities in their homes, academic opportunities for students in disadvantaged positions and childcare that offers parents the chance to pursue their goals. Behind this fun evening was a greater mission: giving community members the chance to invest in families like theirs so everyone can thrive.

There was a spirited energy under Signal Centers' new Friends Pavilion as supporters gathered for Friends of Special Children's 20th annual All aBout the Children Event, with the theme Empowering Our Children's Future. Longtime attendees and new friends came together to celebrate two decades of making a difference for children. The evening highlighted the remarkable transformation of the campus and shared commitment to Signal Centers' continued excellence in early education and support for families in our community for generations to come.

At Habitat for Humanity's annual event, fun met purpose as locals came together to support housing goals for those in the Chattanooga area. The First Horizon Pavilion was decked out with tables and floral centerpieces as guests enjoyed delicious food, drink and music. Board chair Derek Bullard's $50,000 gift was matched by an anonymous donor, inspiring additional giving that will help housing dreams become a reality.

Kai Viland doesn't have an exact memory of the first type of music her mom wanted her to hear. But she clearly remembers what her mom didn't want her to hear.

There are plenty of festive holiday cocktails around this time of year, but you don't need spirits to make your spirits bright.

Visitors to EPB's Holiday Windows can always expect a virtual visit to the North Pole, but this year, they'll also explore such far-flung locations as Christmastown, Bedford Falls and Whoville.
