Getting Out and Giving Back
This Christmas, outdoor adventurers across Chattanooga might find a brand new bicycle, complete with a festive red bow, waiting for them next to the tree. Or, maybe the latest in tents is on their wish lists, the perfect gear for all those camping trips planned for 2015.

Coosawattee Cruisin’
Paddlers know the beautiful oranges, reds and yellows of fall foliage are even prettier when reflected off of the water. And North Georgia paddlers know one of the prettiest places to see those colors is Carters Lake and the Coosawattee.

The Running Chief
I've run from police officers before, but never with them.

A Great Big World
It was 5 a.m. and Jennifer Poe hadn't slept a wink. She lay shivering on a borrowed sleeping pad, wearing a pair of borrowed ski pants, camping 400 feet above ground on an outcropping of rock.

All Things Bright and Beautiful
The forest is quiet save for a delicate scratching beneath the earth. A velvety mole bores its way to the roots of a red maple. After a short meeting, the still bleary-eyed students heft 60-foot-long boats onto their shoulders-nine students to one boat-and carefully place them in the Tennessee River.

Iron Finish
It's been nine months since we met our five Get Out Ironman triathletes in January. Each has faced his or her own obstacles, and each has reached new heights in physical fitness and endurance. Their bodies are denser, packed with muscle, but their minds are trained on September 28-the official race day of Ironman Chattanooga.

Sticker Shock
In a world where almost all outdoor lovers drive small, foreign-made SUVs with roof racks, stickers are the way many choose to set their rides apart. And to help find their car in the 2 North Shore parking lot.
