The offenses stole the show early Saturday, combining for six first-half touchdowns in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Blue & Gold Game at Finley Stadium.
Converting on plays big and small, the first- and second-team offenses had the announced crowd of 2,486 roaring. Both quarterbacks, B.J. Coleman and Graham Nichols, had their share of highlight-reel completions.
In the end, it was the freshman Nichols and the White squad (second-team offense, first defense) that prevailed, beating the Blue (first offense, second defense) 21-20.
“They hit some big plays, and that’s what I like to see,” coach Russ Huesman said.
