Zlovaric officially a Moc

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga received scholarship papers Thursday from former Cleveland High School basketball player Drazen Zlovaric.

It already had been reported that Zlovaric had decided to leave Georgia and transfer to UTC, where the power forward from Serbia will have two seasons of eligibility after sitting out the 2010-11 season.

“We saw him as a junior when he played as an exchange student in Cleveland,” Mocs coach John Shulman said in a UTC release. “We followed him as he had to move on to a prep school in 2008, but his recruitment was off the charts as he signed with Georgia over Texas. He was a top-40 forward, and we are thrilled to get him. He is skilled, athletic and loves the game. … Drazen is the complete package as a student, person and player. He has been very well-coached from the start with Aaron Green at Cleveland.”

Zlovaric averaged 21.3 points and 11 rebounds a game at Cleveland and then averaged 14 points and eight rebounds for the 35-0, nationally top-ranked Patterson School in Lenoir, N.C.

He joins November signees Philip Jurick from Chattanooga State, a former East Ridge star, and Anthony “A.D.” Banks of Roanoke, Va., in accepting Mocs scholarships this school year.
