The people of Hamilton County are most fortunate to have such an outstanding mayor as Claude Ramsey leading our county government. He should be re-nominated by a wide margin in the Republican primary on May 4, and then be enthusiastically re-elected in the August general election.
Mayor Ramsey is honest, diligent, practical, intelligent and efficient. He is a model public official. He has a long record of outstanding service.
Mayor Ramsey has served as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, Hamilton County’s assessor of property and a county commissioner, and he is an excellent county mayor.
He has played an important part in attracting thousands of jobs and millions of dollars of economic development here, including the new Volkswagen plant plus other industries.
He has been a leader in the development of Enterprise South Industrial Park.
Mayor Ramsey is a man of excellent character, conservative philosophy, vigorous service and cooperative leadership. He has been a fine leader in governmental, civic and other community service activities.
He is married, has two children and five grandchildren and is a member of Bayside Baptist Church.
He has two opponents in the Republican primary: Basil Marceaux Sr. and Richard Rankin. He has no Democrat challenger. (The winner faces independent candidate Richard Ford in the August general election.)
Mayor Ramsey’s character, ability and record of excellent service recommend him most highly for overwhelming re-election.
