Another political shame

Misdeeds, unfortunately, are not limited to a few individuals, a few organizations and a few political operations.

This week in Washington, a former treasurer of a Republican Party committee was sentenced to prison for stealing some political funds.

Who? Christopher J. Ward. He admitted his guilt.

How much was he ordered to pay back? More than $840,000!

What was his sentence? About three years in prison.

The 42-year-old Ward was treasurer of the National Republican Congressional Committee from 2003 to 2007. He’ll be engaged in other activities for the next few years.

Unfortunately, too many people haven’t learned that “Honesty is the best policy” — and that “Honesty should be the only policy.”
