Firefighters stopped a fire from spreading at an East Ridge home Wednesday night.
When East Ridge firefighters arrived on scene at about 8:30 p.m., the occupants of the 6112 Bermuda Ave. home had safely evacuated, according to a city release.
But several family pets died in the fire, and East Ridge Animal Control responded to assist.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control.
The cause and origin of the blaze are being investigated.
