The SWAT team from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office captured a man in an armed stand-off Tuesday night, but no one was injured, officials said.
Bob Freeman of 9603 Ocoee St., was charged with aggravated assault and threats, said Hamilton County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Janice Atkinson.
On Tuesday night, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 4823 Melton Lane on a threats complaint. When deputies arrived, it was learned that a family member identified as Bob Freeman, who lives on Ocoee Street, made threats to come to their home and harm his family members and then himself, Ms. Atkinson said.
Deputies responded to the Ocoee Street home and found Mr. Freeman armed with a weapon and he also had several other weapons inside the residence, Ms. Atkinson said.
“Mr. Freeman would come out onto the front porch of his residence and wave the weapon around in the direction of deputies and then place it to his head,” Ms. Atkinson wrote in a release. “He continued to make threats directed at law enforcement and to harm himself.”
While deputies talked to Mr. Freeman, other officers came up from behind him and took him into custody, Ms. Atkinson said.
Mr. Freeman was transported to Memorial Hospital to be checked for any medical issues, she said.
